About Scott Wallace

Scott Wallace, brings over 30 years of business and construction experience to Central Louisiana’s home building industry. Scott currently owns and operates Melot Construction LLC where his expertise includes custom built homes, project management, land development and consultant.  In 2010 and again in 2011 Scott was regionally recognized with the “Builder of the Year” Award by HBACL, one of the most prestigious awards in the building industry. Most recent he has been appointed to the State of Louisiana's Uniform Construction Code Council.

Prior to his association with Melot Construction, Scott served as Executive Project Manager for one of California’s leading developers Castle & Cooke, where he served over the entire infrastructure and development of the renowned Saddle Creek Golf Club Resort in California. He has also filled positions with other Home Builders and Construction Companies around the country. Prior to his involvement in the residential side of the industry, Scott also held positions in commercial and industrial building/development. Scott’s formal education includes a degree from University of California, Davis in Construction Management and Business. Scott is a certified Green Professional along with education in construction estimating and supervisory.

He is also involved in his local community, serving as the Board President of the Louisiana Pecan Festival that draws tens of thousands of people to Central Louisiana. He also serves in his hometown church where he is the Finance Committee Chairman and involved in the Youth at Colfax since moving to Louisiana in 2007. Scott and his wife Melinda are the proud parents of 1 son and in his downtime; he enjoys gardening, woodworking and being a Grandfather of 4 grandsons.
